ACTIVITIES

On arrival you will be asked to please reconfirm your activities with Specialised Adventures at reception. We’ll attempt to accommodate all requests as best we can, but please note that there is limited space per activity and time slot.

Abelone Tour -Hermanus New Harbour

Friday 4 April & Saturday 5 April

Sit back and relax while you learn about the history of abalone in South Africa and Hermanus' Walker Bay area. Boot-up for a guided walk to experience the aquaculture industry of abalone farming firsthand on one of the oldest and largest abalone farms in South Africa - Abagold. Visit Abagold's state-of-the-art abalone hatchery where broodstock is cared for and baby abalone (spats) are produced. Experience the farming activities of feeding, tank cleaning, and sorting of the abalone first-hand.

Beekeeping
Experience

Friday 4 April & Saturday 5 April

Join us for an unforgettable bee experience perfect for beginner beekeepers, bee enthusiasts, and honey lovers. You’ll get an up-close look at bees in their hive, learn about honeybees, raw honey production, and the practices of beekeeping. You'll be introduced to the basics of beekeeping and then, weather permitting, you’ll suit up and meet our beloved Capensis bees on the farm. The experience concludes with a delightful honey tasting, where you can sample different raw honey varietals and purchase local raw honey fresh from the farm.

Cycling

Friday 4 April & Saturday 5 April

Join us for 2 days of challenge and climb! This adventure is for the cyclist who knows what they're doing off road and is ready to tackle the 2

single track, beautiful trails we've chosen.

 

Friday 4 April

43km ride through the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley with 800m elevation gain.

This route is mostly groomed but sometimes technical single track through the breath-taking valley.

There are a couple of challenging climbs to test the legs but plenty of opportunities to stop, take a breather and admire the views.

(Bail out options are available along the route)

Travel time: 20 - 25 minutes

Saturday 5 April

36km ride through Oak Valley, Elgin with 890m elevation gain.

The route is 90% single track. Used in major cycling events - such as the Cape Epic and Wine2Whales - this really is single track heaven! It's a good test for only the most committed riders - there are NO BAIL OUT options (but there will be the regular "stop and catch your breath" moments along the ride)

Golf at Arabella

Friday 4 April & Saturday 5 April​

18 Holes- morning tee off

​

Play the Peter Matkovich design 72-par 18-hole golf course that’s consistently
ranked as a top 10 course in the country by Golf Digest.
With individual and team challenges, see who can best master the fabled 18th hole, a bucket-list 8th hole, tricky sand traps and challenging water hazards.
Tee times and 4-balls will be confirmed on arrival on Thursday 3 April.

Chip and Putt Competition

Friday 4 April (afternoon)

Join us at the practice putting green for a Chip & Putt competition with a difference! All for a bit of fun. Non-golfers are encouraged to join in. Too much professionalism will be frowned upon.

Par 3-
9 holes

Saturday 5 April (afternoon)

Play the transformed championship course with a 9-hole Par 3 set up. The aim is for big hits and on target putts. No handicaps required for this round. Supporters and walkers welcome to follow the groups.

Tee off will be FIFO basis from 2pm

Leopards Kloof Trail (hike)

​Friday 4 April & Saturday 5 April

Starting on the Fynbos Trail, offering stunning views of Betty’s Bay and the sea. The Leopard Trail, crosses streams and reaches a beautiful waterfall before ascending briefly, then descending to the first river crossing. Look for leopard scratch marks on tree stems, possibly giving the Kloof its name. With two more river crossings to reach the first waterfall, and climbing ladders to the second and third waterfalls, this is a more challenging hike in the Gerald Porter Botanical Gardens.

Fairy Glen

Friday 4 April & Saturday 5 April

Experience this 5.5-km point-to-point trail near Kleinmond.

This trail is great for hiking and walking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. Extremely well maintained beautiful trail with panoramic coastal views. A gentle steady climb up to the contour path. Steeper descent into picturesque valleys and stream. Excellent route, and not too strenuous at all. This area boasts some of the most pristine fynbos in the Western Cape.

The Cape Floral Kingdom is one of the richest floral regions in the world.

Perfume workshop

Friday 4 April & Saturday 5 April

Discover the world of perfume crafting. Delve into perfume history, explore base notes, and compose your own unique scent with imported perfume oils from Grasse, France. With guidance from the team, mix your personalised fragrance, and bottle it to take home. This activity is perfect for men and woman.

Quadbiking

Friday 4 April & Saturday 5 April

Enjoy a memorable ride through the fynbos trails of Honingklip Farm. The trail starts with a curvy and flat drive but slowly, as you get the hang of it, the tour starts heading up the mountains and past the Honingklip Dam. The views are some of the best in the area.


Dress code: Closed shoes (takkies are best), no skirtsor dresses and a warm jacket for the wind, please wear sunscreen

Spa Treatments

Friday 4 April - Sunday 6 April

We will treat you to the ultimate experience in stress relief therapy and beauty treatments at the Arabella Spa.

There is 1, 45 minute treatment per person over the weekend to ensure everyone has an opportunity to enjoy the spa.  This can only be booked on arrival, not before.

  • Back, neck and shoulder massage

  • Leg & foot massage

Note: If you have Gelish on your nails, this needs to be soaked off before your mani or pedi

Wine Tasting

Start your day with a 1-hour yoga session - a peaceful yet invigorating practice, blending gentle stretches, mindful breathing, and fluid movements to enhance flexibility, balance, and relaxation. Whether you're new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, this class caters to all levels, guiding you through poses that strengthen the body and calm the mind. Leave the session feeling refreshed, centered, and rejuvenated, ready to take on the rest of your day with a sense of peace and clarity.

Around the hotel

​Relax in the lounge, soak in the views, get active on the tennis court or gym, take a walk or run through the property - whatever takes your fancy from Thursday through to Sunday.

There will be delicious coffee served all day, everyday by Bean There Coffee in the Laguna Lounge.
